This week's highlight from the International Sculpture Collection is a very timely one considering the special, love-filled holiday coming up this weekend. Hint hint: it's Valentine's Day! Learn more about On the Wings of Love below, then feel free to take your sweetheart to the Royal Botanical Gardens to see it in person.
The artists have taken the opportunity to express the meaning behind On the Wings of Love in the form of a poem – enjoy!
On wings of love our spirits soar
Beyond all mortal thoughts.
The empyrean skies we call our home,
The stars our guiding lights.
We visit the realm of gods and souls,
Are one with all that is;
We breathe the air from time beginning,
See all that is to be.
At night with earthly desires subdued
We gather celestial pillows,
Lay our bodies on the ocean waves
Find rest in loving arms.
