St. Joe’s Health Care – Make Your Impression on Health Care

Project Description:

St. Joe’s Health Care provides services at 5 hospital sites and 2 care facilities in Hamilton. With a team of more than 7000 staff working around the clock, the Executive Team was embarking on a new strategic plan and wanted a new approach. As part of the project they engaged Cobalt Connects as an engagement expert to lead a unique process with their staff.

Working members of St. Joe’s communications team, Cobalt Connects devised a mobile engagement process that visited over 150 wards across their 7 sites. Over 2000 staff directly participated by interacting with a brightly coloured, glowing station that solicited feedback on a number of priority areas. The process was fun, looked amazing, and brought unprecedented data back to the management level about how their staff connect.

Following this process, Cobalt Connects developed a public facing version of the data that travelled to 6 festivals across the region, presenting the findings and asking for public input. This resulted in thousands of residents participating in the process, and the gathering of hundreds of audio stories from residents.

Finally, the information from both processes was translated into an exhibit with custom visuals, a story listening station and website that travelled to each St. Joe’s site. The final report was folded into the management team’s approach to the new strategic plan.
