Telling Tales 2020 Online Festival

Project Description:

Telling Tales is one of Hamilton’s most cherished literary festivals, focused on bringing the page to life for young readers. In 2020, the festival linked up with a long-time Cobalt Connects partner, Royal Botanical Gardens, to present an additional day of programming, Nature Tales, amongst the gardens and sculptures of the Dan Lawrie International Sculpture Collection.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the festival’s model of bringing children to a site and exploring together was not permitted, and the festival reached out to Cobalt Connects to assist them in transitioning to an online model.

Over the course of 6-months, we assisted the festival in shifting to a video-based online model: developed content ideas, attracted a stellar host, filmed and edited fifteen 30 minute episodes, and supported the content through marketing and social media support.

In the end, the festival was a huge success and they’re now preparing for season two of an online festival with incredible experience under their belts.
